Booking.com

What problem does Booking.com solve?

Accommodation providers, from single holiday homes to hotel groups, need distribution to international travellers together with tools to manage rates, availability, payments and guest communication in one place.

What does Booking.com do?

Booking.com is an online travel agency, part of Booking Holdings, that lists hotels, apartments, vacation rentals, villas, hostels and other accommodation for travellers worldwide. Properties register for free and manage their presence through the Extranet, supported by guidance on the Partner Hub.

How does Booking.com work?

Partners register a property step by step, set up the listing and open it for bookings, then manage availability, pricing, reservations and guest messaging in the Extranet, including capacity settings and messaging security settings. Visibility programmes include Genius, the loyalty programme for travellers, the Preferred Partner Program, Sponsored Listings and Native Ads, alongside promotions and deals. Payments by Booking.com handles guest payments and payouts, and invoices are managed in the Extranet. The Partner Hub publishes guidance on accommodation licensing, including short-term rental registration, and on EU consumer law price display. Vacation rental managers and hotels can connect a property management system or channel manager through connectivity partners listed on the Booking.com Connectivity portal, so rates, availability and reservations stay synchronised without manual entry in the Extranet. Partners pay a commission on bookings.

Who is Booking.com for?

Hotels, vacation rental owners and professional property managers worldwide seeking international distribution through a single OTA account.

Booking.com removes 4,093 listings in Spain at the consumer ministry's request

Spain's consumer rights ministry required Booking.com to withdraw 4,093 short-term rental listings that lacked a valid licence or registration number, most of them in the Canary Islands. Booking.com said the removals represented under 2 percent of its roughly 200,000 Spanish properties. The ministry described it as the first of three planned requests.
