Vacation rental hosts need guests to get a working door code for each stay without meeting in person, and the code has to stop working at checkout.
Yale Home sells smart locks and door hardware in the United States and Canada, with dedicated bundles for vacation rental hosts. The range includes the Yale Assure Lock 2 in keypad, touchscreen, Touch and Plus versions, the Yale Approach Lock for retrofit installation, the Yale Smart Lock with Matter and Z-Wave models.
Compatible Wi-Fi locks are set up directly in the Airbnb app. When a guest books, a unique door code is generated and shared with the guest ahead of the reservation, stays active only for the stay, and follows checkout times adjusted in the Airbnb app. Hosts receive a check-in notification in the Airbnb app and can schedule one-time codes for cleaning and service providers. The host bundles combine a keypad lock with a Connect Wi-Fi bridge. The Airbnb integration is available only for locks operating in the US and Canada, and locks bought on the US store do not operate outside those two countries. The locks also work with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, Apple HomeKit, Samsung SmartThings, Ring Alarm, Philips Hue, ecobee, Nest, Z-Wave systems and Matter.
