str market mapSpanish homeowners and entrepreneurs want to enter the vacation rental management business but lack the technology infrastructure, operational systems, and brand recognition to compete with established operators.
Alterhome is a Madrid-based STR franchise and property management company that operates two parallel models: direct management of properties for homeowners, and a franchise network that gives third-party operators the infrastructure to launch their own vacation rental management businesses under the Alterhome brand.
Under the direct management model, Alterhome handles OTA listing and distribution across Airbnb, Booking.com, and other channels, along with guest communication, check-in, cleaning, dynamic pricing, and owner reporting. Under the franchise model, franchisees gain access to Alterhome's technology stack, revenue management tools, operational automation, training, and brand support, allowing operators to enter the STR management market without upfront franchise fees or prior industry experience. The company operates across Spanish cities and has expanded to Mexico, with further Latin American rollout underway.
